The consultative practice of the specialist in pediatric infectious diseases has changed dramatically within the past decade. Currently, as many as 50 percent of all infectious-disease consultations are sought because of an infection in an immunocompromised infant or child. Thus, a book devoted to an in-depth presentation of this topic is most welcome.
