To the Editor: The editorial by Cheson (Aug. 6 issue)¹ mentions the bcl-2 oncogene in follicular B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The chromosomal location of this oncogene is incorrectly identified. This oncogene was cloned at the site of the t(14;18) (q32;q21) breakpoint² rather than at the t(11;14) translocation. The bcl-1 oncogene has been characterized at the t(11;14) (q13;q32) breakpoint³.
