Presentation of Case

A 37-year-old woman with treated Hodgkin's disease in remission was admitted to the hospital because of a question of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.

The patient had been well until seven years earlier, when she was seen at another hospital because of a left supraclavicular mass. Microscopical examination of a biopsy specimen of the mass revealed Hodgkin's disease, nodular-sclerosis type, of stage IIIA. The patient received several cycles of the MOPP regimen (mechlorethamine, vincristine, procarbazine, and prednisone), followed by radiation in a dose of 40 Gy to the retroperitoneum.
