To the Editor: Systematic journal reading is not generally a part of the medical school curriculum. Recognizing the importance of medical journals to the practice of modern medicine, we introduced journal reading as a formal part of the curriculum in students' final year in internal medicine at the University of Iceland. Each student received weekly copies of the Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine, kindly donated by the journals' editors. The students were given anonymous questionnaires to fill out before, during, and after the course.
