Multiple oral and perianal ulcerations were found at presentation in a 48-year-old man with Crohn's disease. The patient had had no diarrhea before the diagnosis but reported having oral and perianal pain for three months and swelling and pain in his right ankle for three days. Examination of his ankle showed acute erythema and edema. Panel A shows aphthous ulcers (arrows) of the palate and uvula (U). The tongue (T) was also involved. SP denotes soft palate.
