Drug treatment of cardiac arrhythmias is not uniformly effectiveand frequently causes side effects. Recently, new data havebecome available that more clearly delineate the risks of antiarrhythmic-drugtherapy. At the same time, establishing a benefit of treatmentwith these drugs has proved difficult.
