This is an easily read book that makes embryology easy to understand. However, I think it is geared more to the general public than to the medical profession. The book deals with the embryologic processes leading to congenital abnormalities. There are more illustrations than text, and the illustrations are beautifully presented and well annotated, a mixture of diagrams, fetal ultrasonograms, and photographs.
Many areas are only sketchily discussed. For example, there is no mention of hepatic and pancreatic abnormalities, whereas abnormalities of the ear and eye are described in great detail. The chapter on the cardiovascular system in fact covers
