In the crowded field of textbooks of geriatrics, this work is intended to occupy a new niche by covering the care of the elderly patient from the perspective of an interdisciplinary team. The result is a rich compendium of material, much of which is not available in this degree of detail in any standard textbook of geriatrics. It is a pleasure to read a chapter on the economics of health care that actually defines such terms as "balance billing" and "accepting assignment."
