In 1924 the Journal began the weekly publication of the Case Records of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), with Richard C. Cabot, M.D., as editor. Since then, the clinicopathological conference (CPC), taken from the case records, has continued to challenge its readers and provide insight into manifestations of disease through evaluations by esteemed discussants from various institutions. The CPCs are often used to teach students, residents, and fellows the relevance of scientific principles to clinical care and the importance of logical diagnostic approaches.1
