This multiauthored book about the complications that may occur during the care of children with orthopedic problems is comprehensive. The complications discussed include those the reader might expect (e.g., nonunion, avascular necrosis, and wound infections). Other complications are the abnormalities that characterize the disease involved (e.g., skeletal dysplasias, tumor-like conditions, and metabolic bone diseases).

The contributors are authorities in their fields, but because the book is multiauthored, the approach and style vary considerably.
