This book attempts to address many of the new developments in research on and treatment of cystic fibrosis. It succeeds in some areas but falls short in others. Although the book is not formally divided into sections, the first seven chapters present background material; several chapters on clinical topics follow, and then there are chapters on special topics, such as lung transplantation, physiotherapy, and nursing. Given the involvement of multiple organs in cystic fibrosis and the complexities of its basic science and therapy, the book does not offer sufficient detail to satisfy the needs of specialists, but it does provide . . .
