This book reviews almost everything about the laboratory aspects of hematology and hematologic cancers. It contains comprehensive reviews of erythrocyte, leukocyte, and platelet disorders, as well as hemostasis, fibrinolysis, and the leukemias. For each of these entities, there are detailed descriptions of causes, pathophysiology, diagnosis, clinical manifestations, and treatment. The book is a massive undertaking that is for the most part well done. This second, updated edition contains new information on growth factors, leukocyte immunology, oncogenes, and anticoagulation.
