To the Editor: The report by Gianni et al. (May 1 issue)1 concludes that high-dose sequential therapy is superior to a regimen of methotrexate, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, prednisone, and bleomycin (MACOP-B) in a selected group of patients with aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This conclusion could potentially change the standard treatment in a large number of patients with diffuse large-cell lymphoma of the B-cell type who are younger than 60 years. I should like to raise two questions.
