Presentation of Case

A 35-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of obstructive pulmonary disease with cystic changes on computed tomographic (CT) examination of the chest.

The patient had been well until the age of 14 years, when she had the first of numerous episodes of cough with purulent sputum, which was treated with antibiotics. Asthma and obstructive lung disease were diagnosed. The administration of corticosteroids resulted in no improvement; she used several inhaled bronchodilators.
