To the Editor: The article by Rösler and Witztum (Feb. 12 issue)1 reporting the beneficial effects of the inhibition of gonadotropin secretion in men with paraphilia is an important contribution, but several problems will have to be solved before this therapy can be used widely in sexual offenders. They include the difficulty of identifying sexual offenders whom it would be "safe" to treat and give parole status; the potential legal liability for the manufacturer of the drug, the institutional sponsor, and the participating physicians and other staff members in case any of the men committed a criminal act while enrolled . . .
