To the Editor: Jones et al. (Jan. 13 issue)1 describe a Tennesseehigh school whose students and teachers fell victim to a masspsychogenic illness. One should not assume that mass psychogenicillness was the cause, however, given the finding that "floor-draintraps in the index teacher's classroom (designed to keep gasout of the room) were noted to be dry and therefore not working."
