In this issue the Journal launches a new series of review articles, Advances in Immunology. The articles will appear monthly, usually in the first issue of the month (some articles will have two parts, which will be published in consecutive weeks). We plan to publish them during the rest of 2000 and into 2001. From 1987 to 1989 the Journal published a series of eight articles on immunology. Since then, progress in the field has been considerable, even astonishing. It is time for another visit.
