To the Editor: Vascular complications cause serious morbidityin patients with diabetes mellitus. Two such complications arediabetic nephropathy and restenosis after percutaneous transluminalcoronary angioplasty. There is currently scant evidence of agenetic marker that predicts which patients will have thesecomplications.
