To the Editor: In the August 10 issue, two articles^1,2 and an editorial³ were devoted to strategies to increase the number of organs for transplantation, including the nondirected donation of kidneys by living donors. Gridelli and Remuzzi¹ failed to mention the most important factor in the procurement of organs: the system to procure organs from cadaveric donors.
