To the Editor: The article by Inskip et al. (Jan. 11 issue)1provides reassuring findings that cellular-telephone use isnot associated with an increased risk of brain tumors, but thestudy has some limitations that are due to its retrospectivedesign. Exposure was assessed by interviews, and recall bias,one of the main pitfalls in casecontrol studies, maybe a problem because patients with brain tumors can have impairedmemory.
Since telephone companies keep very accurate records of thecalls of their customers, it would have been possible to documentcellular-telephone use objectively if these data were accessible.Although legal . . . [Full Text of this Article]
