To the Editor: For a study that was conducted at 22 centers in the United States and that involved patients with a disease that has a worldwide prevalence of 2 percent, the recruitment of only 229 patients with psoriasis, as reported by Ellis and Krueger (July 26 issue),1 raises the question of why so few patients were selected to participate.

Furthermore, the sponsor of the study (Biogen) "collected the data and performed the statistical analysis." Did the authors have access to any raw data, and was the analysis verified by an independent statistician before publication of the report? In addition, . . . [Full Text of this Article]
