Is the Placebo Powerless? An Analysis of Clinical Trials Comparing Placebo with No Treatment . In the Web-only Supplementary Appendix 3, the point estimates for Hall et al. (1974) and Davidson et al. (1980) should have read, "–0.17" and "–0.94," respectively, not "–1.17" and "0.94" as published. The confidence interval for Rybarczyk and Auerbach (1990) should have read, "–0.73 to 0.40," not "–0.40 to 0.13," as published.
