Presentation of Case

A 28-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of ocular inflammation, fever, and headache.

The patient had been well until three weeks earlier, when a cough developed, initially productive of yellow sputum, with rhinorrhea and a sore throat. The symptoms continued for about two weeks and were not affected by amoxicillin. About one week before admission, fever developed, and the patient's temperature rose as high as 40.6°C; the cough continued but became nonproductive.
