To the Editor: Goss et al., who conducted a trial of letrozole in postmenopausal women after five years of tamoxifen therapy for breast cancer (Nov. 6 issue),1 present their results in a manner that could influence treatment decisions more strongly than is merited by the data provided. The focus on estimates of disease-free survival four years after tamoxifen therapy, when less than 1 percent of the patients had been followed at least four years, is potentially misleading.
