Presentation of Case

Dr. Donald S. Kaufman (Hematology–Oncology): A 45-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of recurrent flank pain, hematuria, and a mass in the renal pelvis.

The patient had had an episode of hematuria and pain in the right flank 11 months earlier, which had been evaluated at another hospital. At that time, an intravenous pyelogram showed a high-grade obstruction on the right side.
