Presentation of Case

Dr. Donald S. Kaufman (Division of Medical Oncology): A 59-year-old man was admitted to this hospital for evaluation of bilateral renal masses. Approximately 6 months before this admission, abdominal ultrasonography was performed to evaluate fullness in the right upper quadrant found during a routine physical examination. This study revealed masses in the upper poles of both kidneys, 4.4 cm in diameter on the right and 3.1 cm in diameter on the left.
