To the Editor: In a recent cross-sectional study, Berman et al. found that some patients who were treated with imatinib mesylate had hypophosphatemia, with low-normal serum calcium levels, elevated levels of parathyroid hormone, and low-normal bone turnover.1 It is not clear what mechanism (or mechanisms) underlie these biochemical abnormalities.
