The Ongoing Telmisartan Alone and in Combination with RamiprilGlobal Endpoint Trial (ONTARGET, NCT00153101 [ClinicalTrials.gov] ), reported by Yusufet al.¹ in this issue of the Journal, has important lessonsfor clinical practice and also illustrates the complexitiesof designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting trialscomparing new treatments that act in a manner similar to thatof established therapies.
