On page 192, the sentence that begins in line 31 of the left-hand column should have read, "When the hemorrhage occurred in this patient, the prothrombin-time ratio (the prothrombin time divided by the control time) was 1.7, and the international normalized ratio (the prothrombin-time ratio raised to the power of the international sensitivity index of the thromboplastin preparation used) was 2.95," not "the international normalized ratio (the institution's international standardized index, representing the activity of the laboratory's thromboplastin raised to the power of the prothrombin-time ratio)," as printed.
