Retropharyngeal Abscess . In Panel A of the Image in Clinical Medicine, the small arrow indicating the normal epiglottis was misplaced. The epiglottis is seen arising 1 cm superior to the small arrow, and its base overlies the hyoid bone. The second large arrow transects the epiglottis.
