Low HDL Cholesterol Levels . On page 1257, in the left-hand column, line 6 of the first full paragraph should have read, ". . . high-dose niacin (2 to 4 g per day) . . .," rather than ". . . (2 to 4 mg per day) . . .," as printed. Also, lines 13 through 16 of the second full paragraph should have read, "Medial thickness of the carotid intima significantly increased in the placebo group . . . but not in the niacin group," rather than ". . . but not in the placebo group," as printed. We regret the error.
