Investigative dermatology encompasses many quite different areas, a number of which have developed in new directions, and at markedly different and erratic rates, over the past decade. The result has been a sort of joyful chaos for those working in these areas, but a near impossibility for those who want to use some of this new information, such as practicing physicians with an interest in skin disease.
