This book collects 19 articles written by a prominent American bioethicist over the past 10 years. Seventeen of the articles appeared elsewhere, 12 in journals and 5 in other book collections. The other two, one on the human genome project and the other on autonomy, were written specifically for this book. Since many of the previously published articles appeared in journals and books that are not readily accessible, this collection is helpful, because it brings together in a single book major articles written by Professor Caplan on numerous issues in medical ethics.
