Recognition of the specialty status of vascular surgery and the associated qualifying examinations have prompted the recent publication of several textbooks on vascular surgery. This new book is above average for the group.

The three different viewpoints on thoracic outlet syndrome, as presented by Roos, Harris, and Reilly, bring clarity to a difficult clinical problem. I found the chapter on congenital vascular anomalies especially interesting, particularly the Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, as contrasted with the Parkes Weber syndrome. This was new information to me.
