This book is a compendium of "how to do it" chapters, each describing the operative details of a classic neurosurgical procedure as performed by a recognized authority in the field. For each chapter, Dr. Wilson selected a senior author whose name is associated by the neurosurgical community with the particular operation described.

Generally, the chapters are concise but contain sufficient detail for a neurosurgeon with minimal experience or a senior neurosurgical resident to understand clearly the steps of the procedure as performed by the expert.
