Hairy-cell Leukemia, or leukemic reticuloendotheliosis, is anuncommon chronic lymphoproliferative disorder first describedby Bouroncle et al. in 19581. Its defining features are mononuclearcells with prominent cytoplasmic projections (Figure 1) thatretain acid phosphatase stain when treated with tartrate, anda typical pattern of cellular infiltration in the bone marrowand spleen1,2.
