Based on a symposium on chronic fatigue at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association, this short book provides an excellent review of the literature on chronic fatigue and related immunodeficiency syndromes. As a psychiatrist with a research interest in psychoneuroimmunology, I have wished on a number of occasions to learn more about chronic fatigue syndromes and, in particular, their relation to neuroendocrine and immunologic changes in patients with major depression. This book summarizes the theories and research data that will enable the reader to understand the key findings in patients with chronic fatigue or related syndromes. I found
