You will find sex and drugs in this book, but no rock-and-roll. Rather, the two areas of concern are the unintended effects medications may have on sexual behavior or function and the therapeutic drugs that may find application in the management of sexual dysfunction. This material arose out of two British symposiums (held in 1990 and 1991) on the sexual effects of drugs.
The first half of the book summarizes the normal physiology of sexual response, male and female. A review of the best-studied animal model, the rat, retraces numerous hormonal influences and neural pathways. It is easy to see
