The health care delivery system in America is undergoing a seriesof revolutionary changes. What was once a system of retrospective,cost-based reimbursement is rapidly becoming a market-basedsystem of focused, coordinated care. It is my contention thatthese changes are in the best interests of consumers, patients,physicians, and payers and are imperative for a healthy economy.Such a system represents the only viable alternative to a government-runhealth care delivery system.
