Peanuts are one of the commonest causes of food allergy in theUnited States and Europe.1,2,3 They are also a leading causeof food-induced anaphylaxis and death, which usually followinadvertent exposures.4,5 Allergy to peanuts is an IgE-mediated,mast-celldependent, immediate-hypersensitivity reaction.There are several reports of the transfer of allergen-specificIgE-mediated hypersensitivity by bone marrow transplantation.6,7,8,9We report a case of peanut allergy transmitted through combinedliver-and-kidney transplantation.
