To the Editor: The report by McClung et al. (Feb. 1 issue)1is unconvincing, because information is not presented to showthat the women in the treatment and placebo groups had similarclinical risk factors for hip fracture. This information shouldhave been included in the table showing the base-line characteristicsof the groups.
