To the Editor: In 1992, we reported the results of the prospective, randomized Cancer and Leukemia Group B trial in patients with newly diagnosed, advanced-stage Hodgkin's disease. The study compared three regimens: MOPP (mechlorethamine, vincristine, procarbazine, and prednisone) for 6 to 8 months, the standard treatment at that time; ABVD, a nonalkylating-agent–containing regimen (doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine) for 6 to 8 months; and MOPP alternating with ABVD for 12 months.1
