To the Editor: The letter from Powers et al. (Jan. 24 issue)1 challenged our use of the unstratified analysis in evaluating the overall response to empirical antifungal therapy and stated that a Bonferroni correction for multiple testing is required for the comparison of treatment groups with respect to the frequency of breakthrough fungal infections.
