To the Editor: Zhang et al. (Jan. 16 issue)1 report that the presence of intratumoral T cells, detected by immunohistochemical analysis, correlates with an improved clinical outcome in patients with advanced ovarian carcinoma. However, it is not clear whether the count of the intratumoral T cells was performed on the primary ovarian tumor tissue or on the metastases and whether the primary and metastatic lesions were compared in terms of the presence of these cells.
