Presentation of Case

A 31-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of a testicular mass.

The patient had been well until three months before admission, when he noted bilateral testicular swelling that coincided with a two-week illness characterized by fever and cough. When the fever and cough resolved, the testicular swelling appeared to improve. One month later, while on a cruise, the patient had an upper respiratory tract infection associated with fever and cough, and again noted enlargement of his testes.
