To the Editor: In a review article on preservation of fertility in women, Lobo (July 7 issue)1 states that multidrug chemotherapy leads to amenorrhea in 25 to 50 percent of patients with cancer under 20 years of age and in 80 to 90 percent of those over 25 years of age. More specific data are available for women receiving adjuvant chemotherapy for early-stage breast cancer,2 and the risk of menopause onset in this group is highly dependent on age.
