Presentation of Case

A 43-year-old white man was seen at this hospital because of hypogonadism.

The patient had felt well until 6 months earlier, when he noted the gradual onset of fatigue, decreased libido, and erectile dysfunction. Ten weeks before the evaluation at this hospital, he saw his primary care physician. The levels of serum lipids, electrolytes, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium and the results of tests of renal function were normal. The results of other laboratory tests are shown in Table 1.
