To the Editor: The Diabetes Reduction Assessment with Ramipril and Rosiglitazone Medication (DREAM) trial investigators (Oct. 12 issue)1 report that there was an increase in the incidence of regression to normoglycemia (a secondary outcome) of 16% among patients receiving ramipril as compared with those receiving placebo but that there was no effect on the incidence of diabetes or death. The authors appear to have overlooked the significant reduction in mean diastolic blood pressure in the ramipril group, as compared with the reduction in the placebo group, at 2 months (4.3 mm Hg vs. 1.6 mm Hg).
