To the Editor: Trastuzumab-mediated cardiotoxicity was originallydescribed in women with metastatic breast cancer. The incidencerates were 13% when the antibody was administered in combinationwith paclitaxel and 27% when it was administered with an anthracycline.1Cardiotoxicity rates of 1.7 to 4.1% have been reported in severalsubsequent trials of adjuvant trastuzumab.2,3,4 However, theincidence of cardiotoxicity among a population of women treatedoutside of a clinical trial is not known.
